Corporate

Aster Living, like other housing associations, has a Board. Its job is to decide how the business is run, including setting rent, how money is spent and what sort of services are provided.

Directors

Aster Living has two executive directors and nine non-executive directors, including a resident.

Payment

Non-executive directors are paid a small amount in return for their time, although some choose to give the money to charity. They are also paid out-of-pocket expenses, such as travelling costs. Resident non-executive directors are given training and support and are responsible for Aster Living's strategic direction.

Board tour

Once a year, we give non-executive directors a tour of our homes so they can see the work we do.

Planning for the future

We also hold an away day for Board every year. This allows them to look back at the challenges and achievements of the last year and plan ahead for the coming year.
